Kite Drawings

As part of our High Altitude Bioprospecting expedition, we attached a pencil to the tether line of our helikite (helium-filled kite balloon) for the duration of each flight. Wind speed changed the pencil’s movement and the character of the lines. Each drawing is a record of each microbial-searching flight, and an exploration of the kite’s agency as drawing-maker.
